Study at University of Cambridge, UK

Every year, University of Cambridge, U.K. offers over
1500 scholarships to students from various Commonwealth countries including
India. These scholarships are granted on the basis of academic merit and are
for those who fulfill admission norms and standards of University of Cambridge,
UK. These scholarships at University are managed by Cambridge Commonwealth
Trust (CCT) which deals exclusively with grant of scholarships on academic merit.
In order to extend scholarships to eligible students from
various commonwealth countries, CCT has signed MOU with various institutions in
these countries for provisional short listing and recommendation. One such
prestigious arrangement in India is with Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak
Committee (SGPC), Amritsar, Punjab as per which maximum of five scholarships
are offered to eligible candidates for study of Phil or Phd in any discipline
of student’s choice at University of Cambridge, UK. This scholarship is now
open to the student for the session starting September/October 2013.
The scholarship carries an amount of approximately pounds
25,000 per annum for each scholar. The amount of scholarship will be shared
equally by SGPC and University of Cambridge through CCT. In order to be
eligible for scholarship, student will have to apply separately for admission
in any course of the choice directly to University of Cambridge, UK and submit
a separate application for scholarship to Cambridge Commonwealth Trust, UK
& Directorate of Education, SGPC. Only those applicants will be considered
for scholarship that succeeds in obtaining admission to any degree program of
M.Phil or Phd at the University in normal way. However, pending to admission
decision from University, students can file a separate application for grant of
scholarship as per the eligibility criteria.
